39 + 3 days pregnant with 4th baby. Been getting on and off contractions/strong Braxton hicks since last week saturday. Had a membrane sweep done when I was 39 weeks and they said babys head is completely engaged and down and not back to back and I'm 2cm dilated and cervix thinned out. Sweep was a success according to midwife and membranes stripped away easily. Since last night 2am contractions have been every 10/15mins lasting more than 60 secs everytime and far more intense than they have been this whole week! But they havent got any closer and it's now been almost 26 hours of no sleep, hardly any food as I feel sick and I'm just sooo drained and I've called maternity unit who keep telling me to stay home but I just cannot cope anymore. Surely they can do something for me. I'm not even excited anymore I genuinely just want this baby out my body and everything is just exhausted.

☹️ bless you, sounds awful. No help but I really hope baby appears soon for you. Decide when you’ve had enough though and want something further done

Flowers That sounds awful. Hope baby comes out soon.

I was like this with my first, hope baby comes out soon. Tell you what did speed things up in a split second - a bath!!
Honestly I didn’t realise it could do that. Got taken straight down to Labour ward after about 2 minutes in a deep bath!!
Xx

Hey OP!

No personal experience but my best friend had her little boy a few weeks ago and had the same situation as you.. she got to a point she couldn't cope at home way before she was ready to go into hospital. So phoned the hospital and told them and they told her to go on in and gave her some pain relief to help so it's deffinatley something they can do and worth contacting them to tell them your no longer coping with the pain at home. (Assuming your happy with pain killers)

The pain killers took the edge off and allowed her to sleep for a bit.
