Hi everyone, just wondering when you all felt your baby move for the first time with your first pregnancy? I'm currently 15 weeks and just wondering when I can expect to feel my baby moving.

About 16 weeks. It felt like little butterflies!

I think I may have felt some flutters around week 16 but definite movement not felt until week 20. I do not have an anterior placenta but do have a spare tyre.

I felt definite movements at 20weeks, looking back they probably started about 18weeks but I wasn't certain it was baby until 20!

16 weeks, but only because I was laying on my front when it happened.

I had little 'tickles' at about 18 weeks, then what felt like tiny flops at 19 weeks, and then bang on 20 weeks I felt like she punched me in the gut! Like pp, that was the first time I could be sure it was baby movement.

16 weeks! Felt like a fish flip flopping!

bunnypenny · 02/07/2021 17:02

felt some movements this week at 15+4 - but this is my third!

It can be anywhere from 16-24 weeks. Usually 20 weeks or after for first time mums as they are not sure what they are looking out for.

My midwife advised me if I haven’t felt anything by 24 weeks, that was the time to get in touch and say so

I’m a first time mum at 21+6 with an anterior placenta (that I only found out about at 20 week scan) and I think I’ve only just started to feel movements in last day or two. But still I’m not so sure. I was also advised by the sonographer that an anterior placenta acts as a cushion, so I may not feel anything for the next couple of weeks.

In a nutshell it varies depending on the woman, pregnancy etc but could be anything from now until 24 weeks :)

It was more 22/23 weeks for me, with twins. Both anterior placentas. Another couple of weeks and I felt movements easier. Oh I miss that feeling Sad

I was 16+6. I was at the hairdressers and as I leaned back to have my hair washed I felt what felt like a little bubble popping on my lower abdomen and felt it occasionally after that. I don't think I felt proper kicks until around 20 weeks. My gorgeous boy is 3 months old now and I adore him but I really miss him being inside of me. For most of the third trimester he had his foot stuck under my ribcage and would kick me in the ribs and I would end up shouting expletives, but I loved feeling him moving inside me, I feel sad that the feeling is gone in a way.

Willow4987 · 02/07/2021 18:09

About 22 weeks with the first and 16 weeks with the second.

It wasn’t really flutters…more like popping a bit like gas if I’m honest

Maggiesfarm · 02/07/2021 18:10

16 weeks.

Tilly18101 · 02/07/2021 18:11

18/19 weeks flutters/popping, and now I’m 22 weeks definitely flips and gentle kicks! No feet showing but last night was my first huge somersault in there!

cookiecreampie · 02/07/2021 18:12

15 weeks. Slightly later in other pregnancies but I was fatter then.

flower246267 · 02/07/2021 18:47

First pregnancy not until 24 weeks! This pregnancy flutters at 15/16 weeks and definite kicks at around 17/18 weeks !

Ava50x · 02/07/2021 18:53

17 weeks little flutters with DS1. Most precious feeling in the world!

JackJack84 · 02/07/2021 20:00

17+6 I felt a bubbling sensation for a few seconds, then nothing until 18+5 when I started feeling definite kicks from the outside. I'm now 20 weeks & feel some movements every day but no particular pattern. Most of the time it feels like swooshes. Usually when I'm lying in bed at night baby decides to wake up & do some flips!

Roselilly36 · 02/07/2021 20:02

About 20 weeks, such a magical moment.

JackJack84 · 02/07/2021 20:28

Oh and funnily enough I posted this exact same questions a few weeks ago 😁
