12 week scan tomorrow - so anxious about MMC

Very very anxious - stopped having symptoms around 10 weeks and although there is nothing to indicate anything has gone wrong, having a previous missed miscarriage in the past I no clue and found out the baby died at 10 weeks - huge shock.

I'm so scared for tomorrow. I know worrying won't change the outcome I just want somewhere to write down my worries - thank you for reading Smile

I feel exactly the same. I miscarried earlier in the year and am now 12 + 3 weeks pregnant again with a scan booked next week. So many people I know have had missed miscarriages which doesn’t help. I’ve been so tempted to get regular private scans but then I know I’d feel just as stressed the day after and would start thinking the same all over again. The only thing that’s getting me through the days at the moment is the thought that I can’t do anything to change the outcome of my scan next week so need to try enjoy being pregnant for now.

Good plan, I'm trying so hard to do the same - I hope everything goes well for you next week!

Thanks. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow too!

I was the same. MMC discovered at 12 week scan. Am pregnant again now and was constantly worrying in my first trimester about my symptoms disappearing and what it meant. Try to remain calm. I found not looking at the screen (giant tv screens right in front of your face at my hospital) helped until the sonographer said ‘heartbeat seen.’ Then I relaxed a little, although I was still very worried about the NT measurement. Whatever happens you will cope as you have done before. Good luck, I really hope it goes well.

Thanks @JhsLs I'll definitely ask them to do that today! Just a few hours left to go! I feel absolutely sick with nerves but I'm hoping it'll be ok. Then just another agonising wait for the 20 week scan Grin

@zeromango how did you go?

My 13 week scan is next week. I had a nipt test at 11 weeks and they did a small scan first which was amazing. But since then I have stopped throwing up which is very weird for me (I was sick for the whole pregnancy with my daughter) so feeling the stress

I'm so anxious of this and have another 3 weeks to go. Has anyone who has experienced a MMC looked back and seen any signs?

zeromango · 30/06/2021 16:08

Hi guys it went great! Thank you for your support. I haven't really had symptoms for weeks but baby was kicking away happy as Larry - good luck everyone. I was 100% feeding the worst but statistically it's much more likely to be ok.

Yay! They stats are definitely much more reassuring once you have your 12 week scan, and you’ll get to hear the heartbeat with your midwife at 16 weeks of yours are doing face to face appointments. 20 week scan I found a bit nerve wracking because it’s so thorough with checking all the body parts but try to just stay calm. Once it starts moving it’s lovely as you don’t worry if it’s kicking away. I didn’t feel proper movements until 24 weeks (maybe because I have an anterior placenta) but now it’s constant. Good luck xx

Monkeyandthebear · 30/06/2021 19:41

Glad you had a good look at baby and all was ok. It must be such a relief to see.

I have mine tomorrow and my symptoms are so different to when I was pregnant with my DD so was coming on here to post a very similar post. Just need to get to tomorrow afternoon now.

zeromango · 30/06/2021 20:41

@hullaballoo19 how are you doing lovely? How many weeks are you now?

I'm good thanks @zeromango 😊 I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Time feels like it's dragging so much though!
