I'm 12 days pp now, my incision seems to be healing quite well, had my stitches out on day 5
But on one side it's much more tender and abit raised/swollen/tender, is this normal? There's no pus or weeping or anything there, just wondering if it's part of the healing process?

I had this and it was a haematoma that had got a little bit infected. I had antibiotics and it is it drained away on its own. Might be worth a call to the GP?

My midwife said one side always hurts more as they pull the baby out from the side

Mine was like this, bulged up on my right. Midwife said same as above and added that they would have done lots and lots and lots of stitches over and over to make sure the wound didn’t come open. I had a tennis ball sized lump for about 3 months, a noticeable (by me) lump for nearly a year

I’ve just had a 2nd ELCS and both times the (my) right side has been a bit more bumpy, I was told this was because they have to knot one end off (had internal dissolving stitches). Also with my first ELCS I had 4/5 ingrown hairs come through the scar as the incision was very low and strayed into my hairline. They formed small raised bumps with a bit of white hunk but nothing more than a pin head?

My surgeon said it's where they tie it off (usually patient's right I think). If in doubt, always check, but I was definitely more tender on the right hand side of my wound and it was a little bit raised too.

my scar is lopsided but I don't think that's what you mean.

mine healed equally all over.
I think you should get a medical professional to look at it, it maybe a variation of normal or not.
best to get checked.

and congratulations on your baby!

I’ve had 3 sections and my scar has always been slightly more pronounced at one end. Initially yes it would have appeared more lumpy on that side.

I was told it was because the surgeon pulls baby out from one side so it’s always more pronounced. Then as others have said, they have to tie the stitches off at one end.

If it’s sore and/or angry looking, weeping etc then I’d see your doctor in case it’s infected. You can always show your midwife at her next visit. She’ll have seen plenty and know what’s normal or not.

Thank you very much for the replies
It's on my right side aswell, I think that probably makes sense! It's not weepy or anything, I also had my right Fallopian tube taken out at the same time so maybe it's just more swollen on that side
