Pregnancy and painting???

One of my hobbies is painting, with acrylic paints. I’ve read online not to go near wet paint when pregnant, does this include acrylic paints or just oil based and outdoor/interior paints? I also have alcohol based pens and was wondering if I’m allowed to use them as they have fumes... all products are Windsor and Newton.

I used acrylics all through my pregnancy. I think they’re fine.

I stopped using oil paints myself but was still teaching a-level students who were using oils. Kept the windows open. I also stopped using proceon dyes without gloves, which is good practise anyway.

I think the alcohol markers are probably ok but (as you would anyway) work in a well ventilated space.

On a different note, I drew mirror life-studies of my shifting body in pregnancy and they’re lovely to look back on and helped me feel at home in my skin.

I wouldn't even give it a second thought, surely it's fine.

(Also, my baby once sucked a paintbrush dipped in Indian ink. Rang the poisons unit and they had no idea. He was fine, but I was much more careful about painting with one hand whilst breastfeeding him in the crook of my other arm after that 🤣)

Thankyou both! I would of replied earlier but got excited seeing that I can paint so got straight on with it and have done it all day 🤣 so glad I can still carry on with one of my hobbies but definitely wouldn’t of if it posed a risk. Thankyou!!☺️
