Hi All,

I'm currently 8w+4D. Nausea is pretty intense when it rears it's ugly head but I do have periods during the day when I feel 'ok'.

I am petrified of being sick, to the point where it's causing me anxiety constantly thinking I'm going to wake up one morning or one evening projectile with no ability to stop! I wake up most nights lying there wondering if tonight is the night!

Just wondering if people started to get better from this stage or worse?

Trying to prepare myself for the worst 🙈

I just stayed the same up until about 16-20 weeks

Oh bless you. I had intense nausea through both pregnancies and was terrified that I would throw up - I didn't though. I do wonder whether it would've been better if I had.

It could honestly go one way or the other OP.

My sickness got bad about 7ish weeks and I threw up a minimum of 8-10 times a day until about week 20. It eased off after that but I was still sick maybe 1/2 times a day most days after that.

I know that probably isn't what you want to hear but being realistic it is possible that it could get worse, or it could get better. A lot of people go through feeling nauseous but never physically being sick. If you've not been sick yet along side the nausea then it's a good sign I would say!

I think if I wasn't so scared my body may have already been sick but I'm probably pretty good and not allowing it to happen lol mentally it's draining! Every time the nausea comes (pretty much all day) I just pray it's not going to end in vomiting!!! 🤮 horrible fear to have!!

@hollie29x I understand that, I used to have an awful fear of vomiting before getting pregnant. Honestly though, the worrying about it now is the worst bit, it builds it up in your head and makes it feel so much worse than it would be.
If it does happen and you do end up getting vomiting along with the nausea it honestly gets better over time. I think for me because I was being sick so often it actually helped ease my fear if that made sense. After a week or so of the intense vomiting it in a way made me relax as it almost changed my mindset so instead of worrying it changed to "it's been a week of vomiting 10+ times a day and I've been okay, nothings went wrong" and so it almost becomes routine and has eased my fear so much.

I hope that that makes sense and helps at least a little bit

I am now 10+6 and I feel like finally the storm is starting to ease ... just for anyone that may come across this post in the future. Hang on in there ❤️
