Feeling and seeing large movements high up ..at 17 weeks?!

I feel really freaked out, I’m only 17 weeks but thought I’d been feeling movements high up in my bump but thought it can’t be the baby as I’m still so early and baby would be very low down. I’ve just had a shower and had the shower on my belly and it looked like an alien was trying to get out, full belly movements high up and in the middle like responding to the heat. I didn’t get this until 30+ weeks last time?! It’s really freaked me out..I’ve got a physio appointment next week anyway for suspected muscle separation could this be causing it? It just looks much larger than it should for this stage of pregnancy

That would freak me out too. I definitely didn’t have poking outwards kicks until much much later with any of my three (and it was freaky enough then) - maybe call your midwife for advice?

Are your dates definitely right? I’m guessing you had your 12 week scan to confirm?

I did have some kicks that were visible on the outside from about 16 weeks but it was only occasionally, mostly it was internal swirling I could feel. This is my first baby too!

It may just be the position the baby happened to be in at that time, maybe they were just sitting quite far forward?

Yeah I’ve had my 12 week scan to confirm the dates. I’ve been feeling kind of somersault feelings all night, I seemed to go from zero movements to quite a lot in one day! It’s like my womb has just floated up to the top or something, very odd! The only thing I can think is that last pregnancy the placenta was at the front and I barely felt a thing so maybe this is ‘normal’
