Signs of early labour

Hi all,

I’m currently 36+2 and on Sunday my waters broke overnight. Went in for monitoring on Monday and had it confirmed via an Amnisure test, was given a 7 day course of antibiotics and sent home. I’m booked in for an elec c-section on Monday at 37 weeks if things don’t happen on their own.

Since yesterday I have felt so crappy. I woke up early with period pain like cramping but they tailed off after a few hours, but then spent most of the day in bed just exhausted and napping (which I never do in the day). Today I’ve been the same, feel so exhausted, nauseous, loss of appetite, napped again and just feel generally run down. It’s not been way over 48 hrs since my waters broke but could these still be signs that my body is prepping for labour? I’m so worried and paranoid that something is wrong but I don’t have a temp and baby is moving normally. Any advice would be really appreciated . Thank you x

Honestly I would go in now and insist on being induced or section if that's what you are having. Infection risk is high.

My baby was still born 56 hours after my waters broke, very different situation as he was only 25 weeks. The Morning of the day he died of the infection I didn't feel great and had a headache, no temp. By the time I did have a temp a few hours later he had already died. He was fine that morning on the scan except the no waters. Your 36 weeks, your baby is safer out than in now. I know I'm projecting my horrendous experience on to you but I don't understand why at 36 weeks they are taking any chances.

I also had the period pain beforehand. Please go in xx

Definitely call the midwife. Now!

My last baby I had an ultrasound and the doctor thought my amniotic fluid was low so they kept me in the hospital being monitored, waiting for a bed. Baby ended up choosing her birthday because it took so long, but I was being monitored a few times a day

@SteffieIUI I’m so so sorry that happened. It’s the push I needed to listen to my gut. On my way to maternity triage now for monitoring xx

@SteffieIUI ah thank you for asking Smile maternity triage have been monitoring me since Wednesday and baby has been okay. Currently admitted to labour ward as they’re going to do a c section tomorrow morning! Happy to have made it to 37 weeks but it’s honestly been the longest week….

My waters broke at exactly the same gestation as you, I had exactly the same symptoms as you afterwards! They gave me antibiotics and steroids in the hope for induction at 37 weeks. Things eventually ramped up 4 days after my waters broke and he arrived healthy having not quite made it to 37 weeks. I hope your section goes to plan and you have a quick recovery, such a magical time!

SteffieIUI · 27/06/2021 23:00

That's great news so pleased you are both ok. Good luck for tomorrow ❤️

Good luck tomorrow @mariebaby3 😊 my friend went into labour a few days before 37 weeks and her baby was just perfect, home the next day! Hope you have a lovely day meeting your little one x
