Just wondering if anyone has had their baby diagnosed with foetal tachycardia?
I'm 36w, 2 weeks ago mw picked up abnormally fast heart rate on doppler (175bpm) so sent for ctg. They put the fast heart rate down to dehydration so sent me home even though dawes redman criteria didn't meet. I kept drinking loads of water to make sure dehydration wasn't an influencing factor. Had scan yesterday. Foetal heart rate 182bpm, again sent for ctg. This time heart rate looked OK and dawes redman criteria met but baby didn't move much on the monitor and it seems to be when it's moving that the heart rate goes crazy high! I'm going in for another ctg in a weeks time to check everything again but I wondered if anyone has had this issue before and was baby OK? Did they need to get baby out early? Any lasting complications? I keep thinking there's going to be something wrong when they're born and it's really stressing me out.

My first baby had a heart rate on the higher side all through my pregnancy, about 160, I had to get monitored for reduced movements several times and I used to watch her heart rate go up to 180 on the monitor when she was moving but they never seemed concerned. During labour her heart rate went tachycardic several times, I’m not sure how high but it was around 200 beats per minute. I eventually had an emcs but that was due to the induction not working. I worried for weeks after about her high heart rate but she’s now a very healthy, very active 21 month old!

If they were worried, they’d be monitoring more frequently I’d imagine but maybe convey your worries to them so that they can reassure you!

With my current pregnancy, the heart rate is on the lower side and now I’m worried about that! 🙈
