38 weeks pregnant - cramping

Hi all!

I’m just over 38 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing period like cramps for nearly 2 days now.

They were really bad last night and I was hoping they’d start moving into contractions but they eased off throughout the early hours and now it’s just back to a constant ache around my lower back and stomach.

I’ve been Googling (obviously 😂) and know that this could be the start of labour, but just wondering if anyone had any experience of this and what happened with them?

Hate getting my hopes up but not sure what else this could be!

I'm only 36+4 but I've been getting the same over the last couple days! It's just niggly period type cramps. I hoped it meant things won't be too long away but you just never know!!

It’s so frustrating isn’t it. I’m not in a desperate rush for baby to arrive, but also don’t want to put up with pain like this for the next few weeks ☹️

Also 36+4 and although I've had cramping most of the way through in the last week it has more of a come and go frequency and does travel to my back.

Its my 3rd and I still sit and wonder if I'm in labour. Have realised that baby has just decided to practice every evening.

If it helps, I had loads of cramps leading up to my 2nd, so did my friend and we both had very quick and easy labours and deliveries. I think I might have been in pre labour for a couple of weeks.

Hope bubs comes along soon.

@DinosaurDiana baby is still moving around normally and I’ve not noticed any difference in peeing, apart from it’s more often now he’s moved down!
