The month you successfully got your BFP, what did you do/not do…..

Hey Ladies

Always happy to see loads of BFP’s!

Just thought this thread may help us lot who are TTC.

Basically what I am trying to ask is, the month you got your BFP, what did you do/not do? I.e. did you use OPK, and if so did you only DTD on static smileys or did you DTD everyday on flashing and static? Did you not get a static at all that cycle, only flashing and still got a BFP? Did you not use an OPK at all and went by CM/EWCM? Did you only do it once that month but were lucky to catch that egg? Anyway you get my drift 😂

Any stories I’m sure would help!

Thanks 💐

After 2.5 years of trying I had literally exhausted every avenue and tried every trick in the book. The month it happened I was completely convinced I had missed my fertile window as according to temps I ovulated early on cd11 and we only dtd cd 8 and 12 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm convinced for me the trick was starting progesterone pessaries the month before due to excessive spotting before and after my period. Good luck!x

PurBal · 23/06/2021 07:40

I was tracking BBT but missed the window. DH and I had had sex once that month 6 days before O. The app I used said "very unlikely" (or similar, can't remember the wording) so I thought I was out. I consider my BFP sheer luck TBH.

lilroo87 · 23/06/2021 07:43

The month I got mine, we only DYD once at the end of my ovulation window and somehow it worked.
Before that I'd been tracking and we were DTD throughout the month.
The month we actually conceived I just relaxed and wasn't even paying attention to when I'd ovulated and that seemed to work after nearly a year of stressful negatives. X

Nat4392 · 23/06/2021 07:49

We conceived on cycle #14. Ironically it was the month I decided to have a break from OPKs but by then I obviously knew when I was ovulating anyway. We DTD every other day around ovulation. That month I tried soy isoflavones for the first time and took them days 5-9. I was also taking seven seas trying for a baby vitamins and evening primrose oil. DH just started wellman conception vitamins. And we used conceive plus lube. I also went on a spa weekend if that makes any difference! 🤣
I darent tell non-TTCers as they’d just be like “see you just needed to relax!” 🙄

CobleCloud · 23/06/2021 08:08

Got mine the month I actually stopped trying and tracking and doing all sorts of tests etc. Just had a month of trying to stay relaxed about the idea of conceiving, stopped putting pressure on myself and went with the flow so to speak! Now 28 weeks. Smile

Grognonne · 23/06/2021 08:24

4yrs of trying, 3 miscarriages, and the month we decided to stop tracking and chill (with far too much wine), it happened and am now sitting with my 6wk old.

SunnySideUp2020 · 23/06/2021 08:51

Dtd every other day instead of every day in fertile week.
Went on holiday and lots of sun, outdoors, swimming and eating!

SunnySideUp2020 · 23/06/2021 08:53

Also tracked with opk
And was on higher doses of Vit D, zinc, selenium, folic acid and iron supplements instead of the multi tablet.

choccrumpet · 23/06/2021 15:14

We dtd 3 times in total before / during / after ovulation every 2 days and I was using OPKs. I was also in a much better space mentally and wasn't stressing / upset by ttcing and not getting anywhere, I was more accepting of things. I was doing acupuncture which I'm certain helped. It was also my second cycle of taking soy isoflavones.

ArtfulScreamer · 23/06/2021 15:33

For DD had IVF for DS had a shed load of red wine the weekend before was a bit of a dick felt guilty so made it up to DH in the week, knew it was my fertile week but given my fertile week had been infertile for 6 years didn't really give actually conceiving a second thought.
Sometimes with fertility there is no rhyme or reason you can do everything "right" and still it doesn't happen or you can do all the "wrong" things and boom BFP.

cosmos1001 · 23/06/2021 18:50

After 6 months of ttc, we decided to try the following on the month we had out bfp:

  • weekly acupuncture sessions
  • conceive plus lubricant
  • clear blue digital opk (cant rave about these enough, realised i ovulated wayyy later than id originally thought!)
  • tried to chill out a little!
:)
Toastedsesame · 23/06/2021 20:28

We successfully conceived the month after a chemical pregnancy, we also used pre-seed. Only DTD 3 times around ovulation day (I took my temp) Good luck OP.

Anonapapple · 23/06/2021 20:37

We started TTC and then stopped, as we wanted to pause for a few months for some logistical reasons but I planned to keep taking supplements and tracking my cycles anyway. I had been taking coenzymeq10 and my ovulation felt a lot 'smoother' that cycle. However, I didn't have much ewcm (usually have a good amount) and only had sex 3 days before ovulation. I thought the chances of getting pregnant that 'far' from ovulation were pretty slim Confused so we didn't use anything except 'conceive plus' sperm friendly lubricant (why did I think this couldn't lead to pregnancy?!).

Am shocked at how shocked I was when I got my bfp! I think the coenzymeq10 made a difference as ovulation felt different.

lucyrp · 23/06/2021 20:42

I upped my protein intake (unintentionally for fertility it was for fitness purposes), started taking seven seas ttc tablets and i BBT

BettyOBarley · 23/06/2021 21:00

Took Agnus castus and used preseed.
I have pcos and took 18 mth to conceive DC1. Fell pregnant first month of using the above.
Second DC used them from the start and fell pregnant first month of trying.

Russell19 · 23/06/2021 21:18

I used conceive plus

2021expecting · 23/06/2021 21:19

OPKs, DTD every day and including ovulation day and after, took Seven seasons conception tablets - then ate pineapple in days post ovulation.

Justkeepleft · 23/06/2021 21:44

Decided it was the last month of trying for our 2nd child, we had been at it for 3 years .
POS got a smily, dtd once then promptly got a massive bout of thrush. The type where the burning needs a cold can to smooth it.
Got meds the next day that I had a reaction too. More burning.
Figured nothing could survive all that, but it did. Really only takes one.

For ds just dtd based on ovulation tracking with temps. It happened the first month.

Theawkwardblonde · 23/06/2021 22:41

Stopped tracking everything. We were trying for 18 months with 3 losses. I was an avid OPK user and temp tracker.
We had some bad news that month so I didn't track, only DTD once as opposed to every other day, them bam, now 14 weeks pregnant 🤣🤣🤣

els10 · 23/06/2021 22:47

DTD three days straight from static smiley on clear blue (no other times over my fertile window). Used conceive plus and a moon cup to keep it up there!

LCDIT · 24/06/2021 03:52

Used the purple clearblue and DTD twice in two days.on a static smiley.

peonyrose87 · 24/06/2021 04:16

OPK's and SMEP. Got my BFP after one month of SMEP!

PaleGreenAndBrightOrange · 24/06/2021 04:17

What a great thread. Very encouraging and also I’ve learnt about using a cold can for bad thrush! Someone mentioned keeping feet warm in 2ww - what is that about?

Anonapapple · 24/06/2021 04:40

@PaleGreenAndBrightOrange I watched a video where a homeopath explained that we should keep our feet warm so that your body isnt wasting energy on keeping your extremities warm around implantation time. She advised keeping your tummy warm too (not hot obviously!) for the same reason.

SquarePeggyLeggy · 24/06/2021 04:42
  1. Had my Fallopian tubes flushed.
  2. Sex every single day for 30 days.
  3. Ovulation tracking app (Flo)

Baby number three was a lot of cocktails…
