How long after losing some of your plug did labour start?

Hellooo! I'm 38+3 today. Lost some of my plug yesterday. Only a small amount about as big as a 10p. Had weird electric shock pains in my lower stomach (only mild) for about an hour last night but nothing today at all? Just wondering how long it took for everyone's labour to begin after losing their plug and what I should be looking out for?! Thanks!

I had DS twelve hours after I lost mine, at 39+2. I'd already had a couple of contractions though, so I was in the very early stages of labour.

From reading on here, it can take a few days from losing the plug to going into labour. Hope yours kicks in soon. Good luck!

With my first pregnancy, I didn't lose my mucous plug at all before going into labour at 40+5. I ended up with an emergency section for breech very soon after arriving at the hospital.

Second pregnancy - started losing my plug at 33+ weeks. Went into preterm labour at 36+0 weeks.

I lost mine around 34 weeks - had my little boy at 37. It can regenerate though. If it has some blood in it it’s more likely a bloody show which tends to be followed by labour…

It was a few hours for me - lost some plug around 9pm, waters broke just before midnight, contractions started the following morning and he was born 8.35 that evening so baby was here just under 24 hours from my first 'show.'

Second time round it was similar, I had a bloody show in the morning, labour started in the evening and he was born the early hours of the next day.

Good luck!

10 days after first big piece of plug!
Look out for more plug, a show, tightenings, period type pains, back ache...

Lost mine at 37+5, waters went and I had DD at 38+1.
