ERPC 10 weeks after Medical Miscarriage... do you know anyone ever waited this long?

Hello ladies,
I had the medical miscarriage in April 12 after no heart beat was found in 8 weeks scan. After the medical management I contiuned to spot since 2 months with the hope of passing the entire tissues. My beta HCG went down to 0 in June 2, than I had my period in June 20 but still there is retained tissue in ultrasound, although the tissue is not making beta HCG anymore it is not leaving my uterus. I will have the ERPC surgery to remove that 2 cm tissue but I am worried that I waited too long, way too long and there may be adhessions or any other complications. I was wondering if anyone also took this long to get the ERPC and had postive pregnancy results in the end.

Yep, MMC last year - found out on father's day last year no heartbeat (21st June). Started medical management early July, didn't work initially so another dose - thought it had worked but it hadn't so mid July I haemorraged, sac stuck in cervix and dreadful infection resulting in hospital stay.

Still getting BFP 5 weeks later, constant scans and tests - eventually had MVA (ERPC under local anaesthetic) September. So all in all was 3 months!

Had a break for a few months, then caught first time TTC and now 24 weeks :) x

Hi @Amz6219 congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you indeed for your reply. I had the surgery on wednesday in my case they removed a calcified tissue 3 cm size but they did not do the vaccum aspiration like in your case. Why they did not do the MVA to you when you had the infection in July?
In my case also they removed the calcified tissue and scarped the uterus and left 6 mm endometrium during the surgery last wednesday and told me I should have a period in a month to 40 days... were you able to have a period between july and september?

Hi @littleangle46! They didn’t do after infection because they thought everything was gone but nope :(

No period until after the MVA for me because the retained products will have been making my body think I was still pregnant - period was exactly 5 weeks after MVA and totally normal one x
