Covid vaccine confusion

Hi ladies, my husband and I are planning to try for baby number two, once we are both fully vaccinated.

But now I've started to think about it...can anyone tell me what is the difference between getting vaccinated before conception or while you are pregnant?

I'm so confused, if the vaccine is in your system before you conceive can it affect the baby? Or how is it different to if you get the vaccine whilst pregnant?

Sorry for the rambling and if this is a silly question...just want to do the right thing, but find the whole concept very confusing.

No babies have been born yet whose mother had a vaccine before becoming pregnant or during the first trimester so no one can say for certain anything much.
I suspect that it carries more risk to have it when actually pregnant.

@spookycookies That’s not true. There have been babies born in the US at least from vaccinated women - 800 odd last time I looked the data up.

But I’d agree that given the choice, I’d get vaccinated before pregnancy.

Oh I read that wrong, my apologiez - I’ll ask MN to edit my post 🙈🙈

Not first trimester unless premature since the vaccine has only been available since December. And even then I think it wasn't advised for pregnant women until a few months ago. The study from America on pregnant women was mostly of women who had the vaccine in the third trimester.

Thanks very much for your thoughts! So hard to know what the right thing to do is - women just have so much more to think about than men Shock lol
