Clearblue digital and father's day announcement

I took a clearblue digital test this afternoon and it came back with 2-3 weeks pregnant! We've been trying for baby number 2 for about 6 months without any luck and both said this afternoon that we didn't think I was pregnant. He was there when I bought the test but doesn't know that I've taken it and hasn't asked about it at all.

I'd love to tell him tomorrow by putting the test in a box for him to unwrap on father's day. So my question is will the result last that long? I took the test at about 4pm today.

Head is spinning and can't believe I need to keep this to myself until morning!

I think the result would last that long but honestly I wouldn't give him the test in a box, can you nip out and get a fathers day card and write in it sorry I cant be here this year but see you next year or something like that?

wanderedlonelyasacloud · 19/06/2021 20:11

Also - I forgot to say congratulations Flowers

HPmagic · 19/06/2021 20:14

No it has a limited time on it so check the instructions

Toottootdrivers · 19/06/2021 20:19

Thanks. It says 24 hours on the box but was wondering whether anyone had had theirs switch off before that?

Take a photo of the result and make it into a card saying "see you next year" 😁

ivfgottwins · 19/06/2021 20:22

It's 24 hours....I did something similar last Father's Day after 5 rounds of IVF but to be honest I had a back up on in the drawer just in case the digital holder switched off early 🤣

Hohofortherobbers · 19/06/2021 20:27

I still have my 2 positive tests...... 10 yrs and 7 years later. They are first response pink dye ones, does that make a difference?

Hohofortherobbers · 19/06/2021 20:28

Could you get a pink dye one and do it?

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 19/06/2021 20:33

I took a pink dye test in August 2018 when I found out I was pregnant with my DD. I kept it and can still see the line!!

Don't put a urine soaked test in a box to unwrap!!! Hmm

Write something on a card, or take a photo of it to include in the card.

Namechangenumber23 · 19/06/2021 20:39

I wrapped mine in a zip lock bag and forgot about it until I was clearing out and looking through some maternity mementos recently. My test still says positive and think I can safely say it's reliable, he's 18 in 6 weeks 😁

Namechangenumber23 · 19/06/2021 20:40

Oh and congratulations OP! Flowers

MrsXx4 · 19/06/2021 20:50

I think the result will still be there if you give it first thing tomorrow.

I found out I was pregnant on the 1st December and waited until Christmas Eve night to tell my husband! That was a tough month! 😂 I was so close to making it to Christmas Day as well! Lol! …..you can keep it secret till morning! Grin

RedPandaFluff · 19/06/2021 20:58

My digital made it to a day and a half, @Toottootdrivers, so if you took it at 4pm today, hopefully you should be fine for the morning.

Congratulations!

Trinacham · 19/06/2021 21:00

I'm sure mine lasted longer than 24 hours.

Can't understand the people who are saying don't do it. Do whatever YOU want. There's nothing wrong with that idea at all.

Emmacb82 · 19/06/2021 21:16

Ah how lovely, congratulations op 😄

Twiggywinkle13 · 19/06/2021 21:19

I would absolutely love to do that and if I had found out today I would too! I think that’s lovely. Huge congratulations xx

Toottootdrivers · 19/06/2021 21:34

Thanks everyone! I'm going to give it a go. With DC1 I pretty much waved a urine soaked stick with the squintiest of squinty lines under his nose at 6am so I wanted a better announcement this time Grin

Take a photo of it just in case.

October2020 · 19/06/2021 21:40

They last for ages, mine all (...I may have taken a few) gave up somewhere around 4/5months, so you'll definitely be fine for tomorrow!!

You know you only piss on the end and then put a cap over that bit right? You don't dunk the entire test in urine.
Toottootdrivers · 20/06/2021 12:53

It worked! Thanks everyone! He was very happy with his urine soaked box!

I think it depends now. When I was taking them in 2016, mine lasted a few weeks. I took one a few weeks ago and is lasted 24-30 hours.

It's a lovely idea OP, as a way to surprise your partner.

October2020 · 20/06/2021 19:31

Ooh interesting, mine were all about 18months ago.
