I had mmc in 8 weeks. I had the mifepristone misporostol treatment in April 12. They discovered that there are vascular pregnancy tissues still inside my uterus and doctors had me wait since more than a month. I am very worried that the tissues inside will lead to scars and adhesions. It has been 9 weeks since the medical miscarriage. I privately seen a doctor and he told I have to have a surgery. My doctor says if I wait my periods can return. Has any one had a similar experience. I am very confused.

Not a medical expert but fresh mint tea and aloe Vera juice may expedite your period to come and clean everything.

So the doctors/hospital know you have retained tissue but aren’t doing anything about it?

They should have offered you a d&c to remove anything still remaining as leaving it inside you can lead to complications and infection.

Also, I was on the understanding that while you still have pregnancy tissue left behind it may still be giving off the pregnancy hormone. Therefore while you still have the hcg hormone, your body will still think it is pregnant and you won’t start your period.

I hope someone can come along and advise you further.

The doctors in the hospital told that I can have my period and pass all the tissue , still no sign of period just spotting ... But the private doctor told it is a crazy idea and the tissues can be absorbed but my uterus but this can lead to sevaral complications and I must have a surgery as quick as possible... I have another appointment in public health service on monday... I hope they will do the surgery finaly but I am very very worried after all I heard from the private doctor.

my period returned. They made me wait too long for the ERCP surgery technically I was pregnant from february until the end of june. after the erpc my periods returned in 4 weeks but since july I was having hot flashes, abnormal facial hair under my chin and even moustaches, finally I started to lactate in december no doctor ever think of testing my prolactin levels every doctor was telling that my menopause is about to start. my prolactin is 50 ug/l. I started dostinex a week ago, hot flashes and lactation both stoped now. My experience if is there is retained placenta tissue, if the medical management did not work at first place dont wait for months to have a d and c and if you end up sitting with bHCG for months as I did pls get your prolactin checked.
