No fetal pole 6 week scan

Hi! I'm new here 👋

Just been to what was supposed to be my 6 week scan. The nurse says I'm measuring more like 5. She said she could see everything she should for 5 weeks and its just a matter of time for things to progress. I have another scan booked for 10 days time. I have a history of MCs.

The thing is I know my dates. I did ovulate a little bit later than normal and my period was heavier my last cycle.

I suppose I'm just wondering has anyone else experienced this?

Hey, I too thought I knew my dates, but was so wrong! Go by what the nurse says, which means you wouldn't have a heart beat yet.
I thought I was 7 weeks and turned out to be 5.5, even though I remember my ovulation day because of sticks, temperature, discharge. X

I was certain of my dates at 6 weeks. No heartbeat and measuring 5weeks.

Next week 2 heartbeats (twins) and measuring 6 weeks.

I really wouldn’t give it a second thought. It’s so common for babies to be measuring differently to how you expect..even when you know dates! If everything looks well for 5 weeks, I’d start thinking of myself as being 5 weeks pregnant rather than being concerned about measuring small for 6!

Whilst you know when ovulation was you don't know when implantation was.
I would go by her dates and if everything looks fine that's good news!

Yep, I was told the same. Went be a week later and heartbeat seen. I was very sure of my dates too, but it seems babies don't always follow the rule books! Congratulations!
