Don't want to eat anything!

I'm 10 weeks and am suddenly off all my food! I thought I had escaped the sickness but 4 days ago roughly it hit me. The nausea is awful and I can't stomach my meals. I made a smoothie this morning and had to bin it, my lunch was okay as it was a sandwich but my dinner made me nearly throw up. The thought of eating meat makes me feel ill and the smell is just horrendous. I don't like mint anymore, I don't want vegetables and all I want to do is eat junk or beige. The only thing that appeals to me right now is plain pasta with butter or beans on toast! I feel guilty to not eat vegetables and protein though as want to fuel my body and babySad

Please tell me this doesn't last all pregnancy! This is my first and I'm a huge foodie so having the idea of food making me sick is new to meGrin

Hello OP, try eating little and often and make sure you stay hydrated and drink plenty. I'm sure your appetite will return soon enough. Your hormones will be all over the place at the moment but hopefully as they settle you'll feel able to eat more. I had similar at the start of my pregnancy with my son, felt so sick for the first 15 weeks, lost weight too through it. He was born healthy at just over 9lb.

Same!!

I'm 10 weeks, was eating super healthy for months before getting pregnant as I have PCOS. Now I can literally only stomach toast, pasta and Pombears Grin

First time pregnancy with similar experience, I LOVE my food and from about 8 weeks to 15/16 weeks I was off pretty much all of it, didn’t have much of an appetite and was nauseous a lot of the day (although ironically food helped with that)

It was such a weird feeling! Never expected the first trimester to feel like that.

I was worried I wasn’t getting enough good stuff in me but my midwife told me to continue taking my vitamins and just concentrate on simply just eating for the first trimester at least, whatever you can, even if it’s small and often like others suggest

Baby is sucking any nutritious value from anything you eat before you do :)

I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and only just starting to get more appetite and eat a wider range of food but the thought of meat and veg does still sometimes turn me off 🙈

Hope your appetite comes back in the next few weeks

I lived on nothing but pasta and bread etc for weeks. I'm 16 weeks now and getting some of my appetite back (eg can eat takeaways, pizza and most junk food now) but definitely not all of it and definitely no meat.

I think it's really normal.

There's nothing wrong with beans on toast, it's actually quite a balanced, nutritious meal. Eat whatever you need to get you through this!
