Pregnant 5 months after C-Section

So, I found out this morning I’m pregnant after having a C-section 5 months ago. It is completely and utterly a shock and we were being careful (I know, clearly not careful enough). My midwife and consultant told me to wait at least 2 years. It’s not even been 6 months yet.

Has anyone else been pregnant this early on after a C-section and have any advice please?

Hi I’m in the same boat except my CS was 2 months ago,I’m scared I’m going to have to terminate this pregnancy 🥺

I had two c section in 11 month. So pregnant two months after the first.

They recommend waiting 12 months before getting pregnant. But I think many people don't wait that long.

I was 6 months when I found out I was pregnant. Things were absolutely fine and it wasn't even mentioned at my midwife appointment.

My first was an emergency. So my scarring was quite bad after my first. I had a planned c section 2nd time and they neatened up my scar and baby was born calmly and safely.

They may not recommend VBAC due to the timings for the reasons you've raised. I had to go to a VBAC clinic early in my pregnancy where options were discussed, so you could get advice / guidance there (assuming you have the option to go to one). If you don't, your midwife can advise. They can't force you into a c section, but it's best that you're informed.

My two c sections were 13 months apart, but I didn't want to go naturally after a traumatic labour / EMCS before anyway.

Charmum172 I was allowed to try for a natural birth. Didn't happen for other reasons. The only thing I did have was alot of scar tissue Inside my body from the first c section which was cut away with the second. So glad I had the c section as not sure if it was due to another pregnancy so close together or not but the second c section doesn't have the same feeling inside now much more comfortable. Certainly not s reason to terminate though. Maybe worth an ask if this is a thing though as perhaps maybe a reason to have another c section to cut that out. Can only advise on my situation I'm certainly not in the medical field.

Baby was back to back with head in funny position so I didn't dilate didn't get to experience labour really and my c section was horrible I passed out as the epidural didn't work and lost 1300 ltr of blood so I just really want a vbac but also want a big family and that would mean having to have a natural birth as can only have 3 c sections or advised that,the midwife on the phone told me I was stupid and that this is really dangerous for me any baby so I'm just so scared now

Charmum172 maybe get a second opinion then. I certainly wasn't talked into another c section. I was in labour for days in the hospital as got induced as overdue by over a week. It was entirely my choice until it wasn't for a different reason.
