Asked not to know gender but apparently obvious from picture?

All in the subject line. We didn't want to now but every time I show anyone the picture they say that its a boy because you can clearly see willy and balls.

Wondering if we'd asked not to know whether she would have given us a pic that shows that?

Anyone similar experience?

They can't really help what you can see on the picture and if you hadn't wanted a full body shot maybe you should have told them.

I'm pretty sure unless it's a 'potty shot' it's much harder to see. Willy could be mistaken for cord from the side.

A number of people claimed they could see boy parts on my scan photos.... baby turned out to be a girl!

Some mistake cord etc for the boy part!

Also, I didn't notice any boy parts on my son's scan if that helps any.

Had a boy, knew it was a boy, tbh couldn't even tell it was a boy on the potty shot. Unless you've got a load of expert friends they can probably just see cord.

I’d stop showing people the picture. Nobody can have an opinion then.

The sonographer does there best but the baby doesn’t know that you don’t want to know! My friend didn’t want to know for DC except he decided to turn suddenly mid scan and flashed everyone. With second DC she wanted to find out the sex but baby kept his legs firmly shut!

Everyone though that my DD looked like a boy on her scan pics.

Is it a good potty shot?
If not, you can’t tell. As others more than likely the cord.
We couldn’t tell other than the potty shot

Also to add a lot of people have no idea what their looking at half the time, my friend thought her babies leg was his penis 😂

Do you mean the baby's sex? Don't want to be pernickity but sex is Willy or no Willy (except for rare babes with Intersex conditions). Gender is a sociological theory.

And Jesus wept the sonograper has bigger fish to fry than your preciousness over whether your relatives think they can make out a willy in a grainy scan picture.

To be fair, I think the position of "not wanting to know" is becoming increasingly untenable with the advance in technology. Most scans even 5 years ago were hard to read. Now, many of them are hard not to read.

We know our baby's gender but are keeping all the scan pictures for ourselves because I know people will just speculate on the gender, and may well be able to figure it out.

I won't subject those offended by this post to more eye rollingly precious content - it is what it is and I'll remember stop to asking silly questions in the future.

We don’t want to find out the sex either.
The scan we have doesn’t really show much from belly down but still had people comment that it’s boy.
Equally as many reckon it’s a girl.
Hopefully it’s going to be one of them.
