Did you put it in writing or just tell them verbally?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Verbally but then all communication regarding Mat leave and appointments etc was discussed then put on email for a paper trail.

PotteringAlong · 12/06/2021 08:13

Verbally

NatalieH2220 · 12/06/2021 08:13

Same as @OnlyFoolsnMothers

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 12/06/2021 08:14

I told my boss verbally and HR via an email to confirm due date formally for purposes of leave planning.

Moonshine11 · 12/06/2021 08:22

Verbally.
Then once you received your MATB1 your manager will send to HR and you then go through dates etc via email etc

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/06/2021 09:15

Matb1 certicates aren’t issued until much later down your pregnancy c. 20+ wks, so you will need communication before this as to your plans

georgarina · 12/06/2021 09:48

I sent my manager an email to let them know, then everything formal went through HR

HereForTheBiscuits · 12/06/2021 09:58

I told my manager verbally. We then worked together on a pregnancy risk assessment for me that was in writing and sent to HR and when my Mat B-1 form was issued I had to send that to my manager and HR.

I'd go verbally first if I were you and then if they want/need it in writing then you can send an email.

Flutterby8 · 12/06/2021 10:17

I told my boss verbally then we completed a first trimester risk assessment which went to H&S.
So far nothing else has been in writing. When I apply fot mat leave that will be in an email.

MisdemeanorOnTheFloor · 12/06/2021 10:22

Verbally but then keep everything in writing re: return to work dates/annual leave and be sure to understand your company's policy. Would have saved me a lot of hassle if I'd followed my own advice!
