Hi all,

I am 33wks pregnant I have high blood pressure issues. I've been keeping trck of my blood pressure readings for the last couple days because I've been getting headaches. I keep getting reading with my bottom of 100. So my readings are 160/100, 145/100, and150/100. I'm not sure if I should let my doctor know asap or if I should just wait until my appointment on Tuesday. Today is Thursday. Any suggestions?

Definitely dr first thing in the morning. It could be pre-eclampsia so needs to be checked. You might get put on medication too.
Let us know how it goes x

Call your midwife asap. Preeclampsia can be very dangerous for you and baby

happytoday73 · 10/06/2021 21:48

You need to ring the midwife... I'd be inclined to ring them now just to make sure they are OK with waiting till tomorrow.

It can get a lot worse relatively quicky and shouldn't be left as its dangerous for you both. It is a problem they are used to dealing with and medication can quickly help in most cases

Thanks for the response and I am required to take 2 baby aspirin a day. I will update you all tomorrow after speaking with my mid-wife. I really appreciate the support and the kindness in everyones post.

Definitely get yourself checked out ASAP. Especially with having headaches.

I had bad pre eclampsia with my second baby. My BP was borderline high throughout the pregnancy. By the last trimester, I was in hospital once a week getting checked. I ended up being admitted to hospital at 37 weeks and having my baby early because of it.

Will be thinking of you and watching for updates. I started really high bp at 28 weeks and was put on meds but ended up having baby at 32 weeks. But because I was being monitored really closely every other day I was in the right place at the right time. The mess made such a difference.
Thinking of you and sending lots of love x

Riverhousepuppy · 10/06/2021 23:07

Meds not mess

happytoday73 · 12/06/2021 12:23

How's it going OP?

Lemleyrose · 13/06/2021 04:02

Just an up date doc says; meds., rest, and more monitoring. Go back Thursday and Friday

Glad they are sorting you out. Good luck!

Been thinking of you and keep us posted. Good that they are closely monitoring you x

TeddyBeans · 18/06/2021 06:49

Good luck OP, hope the rest of your pregnancy is smooth and uneventful

Treacletoots · 18/06/2021 06:56

How are you feeling OP. I got preeclampsia around 34 weeks and I didn't quite realise at the time. I struggled to pee and just thought I wasn't drinking enough, turns out it was much worse! I ended up in hospital for a few weeks on beta blockers before the birth and ended up having DC early by elective CS, my BP was so high it was dangerous. Please take it easy.

@Lemleyrose how are you doing?
