Is eating fresh pasta with soft cheese ok?

I am finding all this food stuff an absolute minefield. I just bought some fresh pasta and then saw that it has a whole load of soft cheeses in the ingredients list. Is it ok? I mean, it's cooked, right?

It's fine.

Always check that food advice is from the NHS as different countries have different food standards.

For example most cold meat and smoked salmon you buy in the supermarket has been frozen so is safe to have in pregnancy.

I am in no way a scientist, but I'm sure it's fine OP. You'll be cooking the pasta at a high temperature.

On a side note, I'm surely there are plenty of pregnant women all over the world that are eating "raw" soft cheeses without a care - I feel like we are victims of information overload sometimes here!!

Most store bought soft cheeses are pasteurised and safe.

It's blue, mould ripened and unpasteurised cheese you need to avoid.

I thiught you can't eat sift cheese like brie

I'm not in the UK, which is the problem. You can easily get unpasteurised foods here, so it's quite difficult. But I am guessing that boiling the pasta cooks the cheese, so it's ok?

Yes. You need to either boil it or freeze it. Both things will kill the bacteria that can cause issues

Excellent. Thanks, everyone!
