How often do you DTD during your fertility window?

Hi Ladies...
Just wondering how often everyone is DTD during their fertility window? 🙈

We did every day, but that’s party just because we were an almost every day couple anyway.

I’ve had plenty of friends do every other day, or even just a couple of times, and manage to fall pregnant.

During the window we did it every second day and everyday when the ovulation stick said it was peak time. Sperm lasts a few days in your body so it’s not necessary to do everyday - if you don’t fancy it.

I've just had my BFP and we DTD every other day in the week leading up to ovulation (which included the day I got the positive opk). None after.

Never tracked fertile window.
We only dtd twice the month this baby was conceived, about a week apart.

I took 7 months to TTC before first MC, then 3 months, then 2 months. So I tried quite a few things, but the same thing worked both the second and third times.

The second two times we conceived, I basically did SMEP. Used clearblue digital ovulation (ones with smiley face) and did it every other day once we were getting flashing smiley, then every day for 2 days with solid smiley, then skipped a day, then one day more. Worked for us, now 33 weeks!

DTD every day in fertile window. Days 7 - 15. Each month we did it we got pregnant. When we were more targeted, or every other day we didn't. 3rd pregnancy now. DTD everyday in fertile window and we caught first month trying. I'm over 35 too

Tried every day, every other day, SMEP. What worked for us was once on what I’m pretty sure is O-4 (I didn’t track ovulation that month but dates from tests and scans line up with that date). I just don’t think you can tell because everyone is so different.

I’ve always followed the SMEP

We were successful on our third cycle (currently 10 weeks pregnant) when we DTD every day for 7 days straight over my fertile window. It was a lot, but it worked for us.

We did every other day, then the day of the peak ovulation test and the day after the peak test. Coming up to 20 weeks pregnant now

Every other day’s fine, doing it every day can reduce sperm parameters.

First month we were TTC we only DTD 5 times. Second month we DTD every 2-3 days and I got pregnant.

Once or twice is enough. The more the better, but only because it increases your chance of actually catching the window. Not because you need more deposits of sperm :o There is a slight theory about how doing it every day can reduce sperm quality but I think this is not meant to affect everyone. But if unsuccessful for 6+ months and you are doing every day, try every other day instead.

I only had one fertility window as conceived first try and we DTD day before peak, day of peak, and 2 more days before my BFP

I had a smiley on a Clear Blue ovulation test yesterday first day using it but not on my cheapies and its negative today so but confused now.
Anyone else had any trouble with them?

Once you have the smiley you stop testing don't you? At least that's what I had to do with the Advanced (purple) test.

I think once...maybe twice but no more 🌱

The first time we used SMEP I got pregnant (month 5 of trying). Could have just been coincidence of course.

We went for the approach of 'when we feel like it' rather than aiming for a specific number of times each week. The fertile window of the cycle i conceived in we had sex 3 times I think. First month of trying, a miracle considering I have endometriosis.

I didn't track ovulation.

We DTD 2/3 times a week all month.

@Scoaf The clear blue smiley appears when you're going to ovulate therefore it's just set off on its travels. Chances are it will not show a smiley face if you test again the following day but that's the day you'd ovulate. When I was having IUI I would need to ring the clinic the morning I got the smiley face and then I'd go in the following day for the IUI. And the clinic explained it to me why then what happens with clear blue test

Thanks for your reply. I think the confusion came from the fact my cheap opk were negative the day before and the same day i got the smiley.

@Scoaf yes it is confusing. I think the clear blue one must be accurate as it's the one I've always been told to use by my fertility clinic for IUI

The month I got pregnant we did it 3 times In fertile period and the last time was 2 to 3 days before peak LH strip

TBH our last baby was 21 years ago...I just aimed for the middle of the month. Good luck 💐
