Hi, so its still early days in my ivf pregnancy and I was thinking if I do have vaccine I would wait after first trimester. Whilst my boss hasn’t asked me I had someone at work ask me if I had the vaccine yet and I said still waiting, then he asked if I’m in the younger category (if only!). It’s hard now to dodge question and worried boss might ask. Unless I tell him my circumstances I feel it might be hard to answer but honestly I don’t want to share my news just yet.

Just wondered whether anyone in same boat and how they have tackled.

Smile and reply, 'no, not yet.'

You don't need to get tied up into a conversation about whether you've had it, or why you haven't.

I'm wondering what to do about this, I don't think I'll have it for another 8 weeks. Do I just lie? Although that feels really deceitful or potentially putting people at risk!

As @ELCSPlease says, no long explanation required. Vaccines are not mandatory and you aren’t under any obligation to tell anyone about your pregnancy this early on unless you want to.

I’ve had both doses but was not pregnant at the time. If I was I would still have it but like you wait until 2nd trimester.

DamnShesaSexyChick · 08/06/2021 14:09

Just say you’ve had it

Sweett00th · 08/06/2021 14:25

Very tempting but I couldn’t. I’ll just have to politely say what ELCS suggested. Not long really.

I was asked daily for weeks by my bosses (work in a practice) and just kept saying not yet. I was worried at the time as was genuinely every day but now I'm further on and have told them I'm pregnant they have stopped asking as I'm not having it x

I’ve had this I work in healthcare, and wasn’t keen on having it before children, I’ve had to say to a few people I’ve had one. Even though I haven’t and they soon stop asking.
It’s all personal choice.

I think there best response here is asking that person a question about their own vaccination, that usually evades answering without looking like you are.
