Confused! Fundal height vs baby size help

Hi all,
I am so confused. My fundal height is measuring at 95th centile. I am 31 weeks. I have not been sent for any extra scans. Some people have said that means I will have a big baby but when I look up what a 31 week bump should measure it says 31cm which is what mine was... so why is the measurement I should be, on the 95th centile? I'm confused. First time mum with a baby girl due xxxxx

It doesn’t mean your baby will be massive. FH is really not an exact science.
If you’re 31 weeks and you measure 31cm, you are spot on what you ‘should’ be

The fundal height charts are now tailored to your height/weight so not as general as 31cm at 31wk.
Fundal height is a very inaccurate way to judge baby size. They should send you for a growth scan if they think baby is very big.

They won’t necessarily send you for a growth scan if bump has measured big throughout. It’s more of a concern if the size starts to go higher or fall off the centile line it was on by a significant amount. I wouldn’t worry about it at all. For context my second born measured 95th centile throughout including at growth scans and was born 2 days before due date weighing 7lb 9oz, so a decent weight but certainly not massive! Smile
