Movements from about 14-15 weeks: do you feel them every day or are there days when you don't?

I suppose the title says it all really. I'm 16+4 with no.3 so I should be an expert by now. However because I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks this summer I am ultra-paranoid this time. I felt early movements and definite flutterings around the 14 week mark, but since about 15 and a half weeks I just can't tell if I'm still feeling anything. I know it's still massively early but as I said I'm paranoid....I felt early movements with ds2 too but that was pre-misc so I was so much more relaxed and didn't analyse every little thing like I'm doing now.

Do you think the baby has just moved? I almost wish I hadn't felt anything early then I wouldn't be obsessed with it now.

Anyone? Sorry to waffle.

Thank you VS, that makes sense, I think I just need to chill out about it. And I know from reading various threads that all babies' movements are different for everyone too, be it first/second/third or more pregnancies.

Hope to be on an antenatal thread near you soon

Snooks, I'm being just as paranoid not putting my name on that may 2008 thread!
I did go and introduce myself after 12 weeks but have not posted since and did not put my name on the list.
How about we hold hands and jump?

Hi - I just wanted to add that if you're at all worried, why not call midwife and explain, previous m/c, not sure if feeling movements or not, could they just have a listen in and check.

I had late m/c between dd1 and dd2 and they were brilliant with me during my (very stressful but perfectly normal!!) pregnancy with dd2.

Snooks, try not to worry too much, at this stage baby has sooo much room to move around in that it has probably gone to sit at the back or is facing inwards - this would dull the movements so they don't feel as 'big' as you would expect. Also when you are rushing around after 2 other LO's you don't have as much time to just sit and feel the baby.

FWIW I felt this one (my 3rd) at about 13 weeks but it was so slight I thought I imagined it. The movements didn't really get any bigger until about 17 weeks and were not regular until 20+ weeks. Even at 20 weeks I remember seeing baby move at scan and not feeling a thing as it was too low down.

Hi everybody. Been out all day but...

Woo-hoo!!Last night I got MOVEMENTS! OK so baby wasn't exactly doing the can-can and I had to have my hands clasped to my belly literally all evening, but thank god, I got rewarded with some slight little sort-of "pushes" back at my hands and the odd little "flip". My hands were clasped so tightly the imprints are only just fading now I am so so pleased, thank you for all your reassurances, I could kiss you all!(Sorry over-the-top but I'm relieved).

Yes slim, we must join Mrsstresshead on that May 2008 thread. Go on, you first. And thanks too wishingchair (used to love that book)and beckle, you all talk sense, I too will try to be rational from now on

Hi Snooks and Slim (I'm off May 2008 thread). So glad you felt movement in the end. As I said the other day i've gone from feeling loads to not a lot. However, today I had to move loads of tables around (I'm a teacher) and I musta annoyed the baby because I started feeling little movements again thank goodness!!!

snooks · 21/11/2007 17:37

Hi Hayley, yes saw you on the May 08 thread. Thanks for the welcome Glad you've felt some more movements too, hope you weren't moving too many tables around...although sometimes I carry ds1&2 downstairs at the same time just cos it's easier/less hassle than leaving a whining one at the top who has decided his legs don't work - anything for an easy life hey?

I've felt some more definite flutters so feel about 100 times happier than Monday, weirdly though I feel them when I'm "active" and not when I'm resting. Although I don't care when, just so long as I do!
