Unused pregnacare but don't want to throw away!

What can I do with unused Pregnacare? I have boxes completely unopened, never ended up taking them as I was given the free ones from the NHS which agreed with me more. I don't want them to just be disposed of, would rather give them to someone who needed them!

Thoughts?

You can use use them as standard daily vitamins surely. Nothing in them that’s specific to only pregnancy.

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 20:30

I haven't used them because the iron doesn't agree with me and gave me horrendous constipation. Posting for a reason @TheMotherlode!

Maybe a local baby bank would take them? Or advertise them for free on a Facebook group?

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 20:38

Thanks @sleepyquest, I'll check out local baby banks (didn't know they were a thing! Only 18 weeks) and have a scour for some groups on Fb :)

I was also going to say you could still take them as your OP didn't say anything in them didn't agree with you.

We have local Facebook groups and people offer things for free.

TheMotherlode · 30/05/2021 20:48

@Lostwordsblessing alright, no need to be arsey

Give them to a pregnant friend, put them on a local Facebook site, see if a food bank/ baby bank will take them. There are lots of fairly obvious options.

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 20:55

Ha ok thank you. I just didn't want to have to mention my constipation, I think that's fair enough! Grin

To be fair, I'm asking a question because I don't know the fairly obvious options. So thanks for letting me know.

OP you're being a bit arsey to people who were trying to help you

Curatingchaos · 30/05/2021 21:02

So rude Grin
Sell them on Facebook , there are loads of people like you on there!

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 21:10

Don't come for me lasses, I wasn't intending to be 'arsey.' There are worse things happening.
I just thought it was clear from my post that I couldn't take them myself (I did mention that my other ones agreed with me more, maybe I could have been clearer), and the intention of my post was sincere as I'm first time pregnant and have no idea about baby banks etc, which is why I asked in the first place. I have no pregnant friends either otherwise that's where I'd go first.

Thank you for your responses, I've already contacted a local baby bank.

O think it was obvious when she said the NHS ones agreed with her more.
That means pregnacare ones weren't so agreeable. Jesus Christ

I took them and I wondered if they contributed to me feeling sick or if it was just sicky feeling morning sickness.
I started the NHS ones and don't feel as sick

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 21:16

Yep @Horehound the NHS ones with just folic, c & d were so much lighter, think the iron just overdid it for me which I read is common for other women. I ended up being given a free packet but my partner bought me two on offer at the beginning and I hate waste!

I think I’d ask on local Facebook as I’m pretty sure a baby bank wouldn’t be allowed to give any form of medication that they haven’t bought themselves. I have some actually - you’ve reminded me to pass them on!

InpatientGardener · 30/05/2021 21:20

I couldn't list them on Facebook as they're medication so gave them to a pregnant lady who bought some other baby bits from me. Other than that, maybe offer them on a local parenting Facebook group? Food bank in my area wouldn't take them either.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 30/05/2021 21:23

Try the Olio app. It's to give away things for free in your local area. Just list them and the receiver comes to collect. Easier than trying to find a baby bank.

Lostwordsblessing · 30/05/2021 21:24

Yep @impatientgardener I think I'm going to get that reply which is understandable, looking over their website. I've joined a FB group so hopefully someone will need them over there. Does anyone know of any UK based groups?
