Cramping at 6 weeks pregnant - reassurance?

Hi people. I recently found out I'm pregnant and am overjoyed. We were trying for about 6 months and I'm 34 almost 35. It's my first pregnancy and at just 6 weeks I am experiencing cramps and pelvic aches and pains. Not extreme but also not mild either. I know that people have asked this before and I don't want to overreact but are these twinges and aches normal?

I also had diarrhoea today if that is relevant. I've had no bleeding so far.

Thanks in advance and sorry to be worrying!

Yes, normal. Some people also get diarrhoea instead of morning sickness as well.

I had so much pain and cramping in the first 5 months with my 1st we didn't tell anyone as I was sure I couldn't be in so much pain and end up with a baby!!
It was all fine and lots and lots of ladies get various pains all throughout, welcome to the worry of motherhood Wink

Cramps and aches are normal! I've had cramps so badly I couldn't stand up. Ofc if something feels really wrong or you start spotting ring your EPAU but it's normally just everything stretching and hormones being weird.

Congrats Flowers

Thank you! I know every pregnancy is different but I'm sure we have all the same worries and stuff. It just all feels so alien!

My stomach cramps early on with my first baby were so intense I spent a lot of my time lying in bed with several hot water bottles around me. Similar with second baby but much less intense.

I had period pains both times, don’t worry
