Experienced mums - Do you all wash your new baby clothes before use ?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

All new clothes, baby or not, should be washed before use really as they’re covered in chemicals (Google it) - even more important for babies!

Nah.

And I don't use special washing powder nor wash baby's things separately. Everything all in together with normal washing stuff.

It's never been an issue.

BertieBotts · 30/05/2021 10:11

I know about the chemicals but since it's never caused a problem in our family, I have never worried about it.

Oysterbabe · 30/05/2021 10:16

Nope.

COL1N · 30/05/2021 10:26

Yes & still doing it 18 months later! Not sure when you are meant to stop!

If you knew the manufacturing process you would wash. Same as your own clothes. Even to get rid of the residual dye / processing chemicals alone.

I did when he was new but I don't now he's a bit older unless it's 2nd hand. I will wash new clothes before the next baby too.
