2-3cm dilated, no contractions?!

Just looking for some opinions of mums who might have had a similar situation before!

I am 40 weeks + 1. At my midwife appointment I had a sweep and was advised that I am 2-3cm already, baby is fully engaged and “flat” (she could feel his head easily!)

I had what I think is my show start early hours of the morning last night and has continued in bits throughout the day today.

Still 0 contractions though! Not even any tightenings or braxton hicks.

Has anyone else had similar situation and if so, how long until contractions / labour started?

I am being impatient and can’t wait now!!!

It is my first baby as well Smile

Yes.

Contractions started within 24 hours both times I was in that position.

Good luck!

I had a show 4 days before I gave birth but they can regrow, so not always a great way to go by. I was 2cm and was having contractions but didn't feel them at all. Only knew I was having them when I went in for movement checks a few times. The midwives kept asking was I sure I wasn't feeling them. Sorry to say but she ended up being induced lol

Sorry first but a little 4 days was with my first and the rest about my second

I only knew I was having contractions when I was hooked up to the monitor!
I thought it was just the slight crampy pain I'd had for weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks everyone! @SmednotaSmoo @bunhead34 @Raindancer411

Still nothing! I have a feeling I’ll be waiting a few days yet - booo👎🏼

I was 2 cm at my second sweep. Midwife even left a voicemail at her team office to say it was likely I would call in labour a few hours later. 4 days later I had to be induced as zero signs of labour at nearly 42 wks pregnant!
