Low risk result of 1:532, age 44, would you still have nipt?

As title says really. Combined test came back low risk but it's still high enough for me to be wondering whether I should pay for nipt. Have just lost my job so it's a big financial consideration!

hGG was 1.7469 MoM
PAPP A was 1.6882 MoM
NT 2mm

I've no idea what those numbers mean, is it likely that my age is the biggest factor in my 1:532 result or do those bloods look like they've contributed?

Thanks!

No advice as have never got as far as that stage but do you kind me asking how easy it was to conceive? I'm the same age and struggling.

I think these are really good results! Age plays a huge factor in the NHS test and you have such low chance of hormonal anomalies I wouldn't bother.

If you are uneasy and worried just have the NIPT. It will certainly come back low chance. Many congratulations!

Your risk without the bloods would be far higher. 1 in 40. However if the test helps with peace of mind, it's probably worth it?

Thank you! Your replies are very reassuring. I'll weigh up the peace of mind issue, and whether the peace of mind I'll get from saving the money to go towards my mortgage is greater!

@bitheby I came off the pop pill about 5 months before I got pregnant, didn't use opks or chart or anything and was only seeing DP once a week and every other weekend! It was very lucky timing when I did conceive. My DP went on a health kick and lost weight, cut down drinking etc for a good month before so that may have helped. It's is still very possible at our age so I wish you all the very best!

Hi,

I am 44 and 22 weeks pregnant. I had the NIPT. It is a lot of money but getting low numbers back ( and finding out the sex early) was so worth it for me.

I think I would have spent all my time worrying if I hadn’t had it- ha ha I spend all my time worrying anyway so it was nice to have one less thing to worry about.

Good luck!
