SEVERE stomach cramps 2 years after c section

Hi everyone,

2 years ago I had a planned c section and recovered well. But whenever I try and do sits ups I get awfully painful abdominal cramps/spasms. They are so bad I can't move until the pain stops. I can't pinpoint why this is as I have no pain near my scar. It's just in the stomach muscles. Any idea why this is?

Have you asked a doctor about it? It doesn't sound normal at all, I've had 2 csections and could do abdominal exercises by 6-12 months after each.

I second speaking to a GP about your pain.
I had intermittent abdominal pain, often brought on by bending, very difficult to pinpoint and the pain was worse than anything I'd ever felt. Oddly, when the doctors I saw palpated my abdomen, there was no pain. I did get the feeling some of the doctors thought I was trying to scam them for painkillers (none were requested or offered in any case). Luckily they sent me for two ultrasound scans, one of the gallbladder, and one of the ovaries, where a great dermoid cyst revealed itself. This was removed via keyhole surgery, along with an ovary, the vile pain turned out to have been ovarian torsion.

I’d also suggest speaking to a GP, I’ve had 3 sections and was able to exercise as normal within a few months of each one.

I’ve never experienced any kind of pain around the scar or abdominally following any of them, but do have slight numbness around the scar area ever since the first one.
