Yolk sac seen no fetal pole

Two weeks ago i had a scan and was told i was around 5 weeks, gestational sac seen and small yolk sac, went back today for a follow up and the yolk sac has grown but she said im about 5-6 weeks? Im really confused by the dates. I dont have a clue when i ovulated as i had the implant removed march 25th and fell pregnant. I had my first positive 6th may.

Don't forget that we are talking mms at this stage, so it very, very tiny! What did they say when you pointed out that you were measured at 5 weeks- 2 weeks ago?

I had early scans with 1 pregnancy and was told that it should grow 1mm per day. I cant recall if that was the yolk sac or gestational sac though. Mine only grew 3mm in a week, and at 7 weeks I mc'd.

Not saying that will happen at all, but its sometimes just too early to see much. Are they bringing you back for another scan or doing hCG blood tests?

I've had a slightly similar situation. Basically I had a miscarriage in March and got pregnant the month after with no period in between. I went for my first scan 2 weeks ago when I should have been 6 weeks and they said I was 5+6. They saw a fetal pole and a yolk sac but no baby or heartbeat. I went back for another scan a couple of days ago and I got the same measurement of 5+6 but now there's a baby and a heartbeat. I mentioned that it was strange that the dates were still the same and I got told that it's so difficult for them to guess how many weeks when it is so early on and it is more likely I was less that 5+6 on the first scan.

So something similar may have happened to you. You could have been earlier than 5 weeks when they scanned you the first time. Just try and stay positive until your next scan. Dating wrongly seems to happen very often especially under 8 weeks

The scan i had the first time showed just a sac, this time a very obvious yolk sac inside. She didnt really say much just to go back in two weeks as i look around 5-6 weeks. Its so frustrating

At least you have progression then. Maybe you are just a lot earlier than you thought. It's a long wait as I've been through it myself but you'll get there!
