Ive got really painful cramps in my stomach. Its so painful its making me feel sick. Out of ten id say the pain is a 8. Is this normal to feel cramping like this during this stage of pregnancy? I feel the cramping in my bottom also.

@shuz1980 I've had the same! It's woken me up two nights in a row and made me sick and sweaty and terrified the first time it happened because it was so severe. I'm also 5 weeks along.

I've gone to urgent care to be referred to early pregnancy unit. They said it's likely all okay, but they like to check to be sure. I called 111 and they directed me there. That might be an option for you?

Did they give you scan @ChelleV

@shuz1980 They would've at Bristol but unfortunately I went there from work and I'm a Welsh resident so they've got a different system in place. GP is checking me out tomorrow then I'll know if I'm being sent for one or not

If you’re concerned, ring the pregnancy assessment unit.

I had cramps until about 8 weeks. Most were quite strong period type cramps but I also had some one sided, sharp pains that took my breath away. I rang the assessment team and they weren’t concerned and didn’t offer a scan. The midwife I spoke to said that everything is moving around to make room for your uterus so cramping is expected and normal. I’m 13 weeks now and everything progressing well so far.
