Found out 3 days ago im pregnant. Still getting my head around it all. Im around 4-5 weeks. Is it just a case of phoning dr's now and letting them know?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

At most GP surgeries you can arrange your booking appointment directly with a midwife, or will be redirected to the booking service through your local hospital/trust. Your booking should be before 10 weeks. Week 8 is ideal, occasionally I have booked women at week 7. It's worth calling in case their clinics are busy so they can get you in. Congratulations!

For mine we had to contact the GP and they referred on to midwives. The booking in appointment happens at 10 weeks so ideally before then! I would just ring the GP and see what they say, because each trust will do things slightly differently.

I always wait until 6 weeks due to history of chemicals.

It's self referral to the midwife team via the hospital website here. Check yours for an online form, if they don't have one then a call to the GP's.
