Hi

I am 20 weeks pregnant. Have had sickness since week 6. I am on anti sickness tablets 3 x per day. I have recently had this changed to a 3rd line medication. I am very constipated and have just been told I have a UTI and have been prescribed antibiotics I was off sick Tuesday and due to work tomorrow but not sure if I should stay off work and rest ?
I work from home but my job is a call centre so I have constant calls coming through and also make outbound calls ( healthcare role so very responsible) I can't just take a break when I fancy.

If I don't go to work tomorrow my little girl with still be in nursery so it would be a day where i can properly rest I just feel so guilty. I do think I will struggle to sit at the screen all day feeling so sick and I am having terrible stomach cramps so it is better to lie down and rest.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

A UTI without all of those things while not being pregnant is bad enough, I would say yes! Hope you’re feeling better soon

Definitely, make the most of ur girl being at nursery and get some proper rest in as rest whilst looking after another child isn’t really rest. Trust me I know the feeling x

Thank you . Yes my little girl ( aged 2 and half ) never stops, she has so much energy and is also dropping her nap so I have lost that rest time too.

Absolutely take time off and rest and recover.

You have to look after the kids and yourself.

100% take at least one day. Enjoy your day of peace and quiet and don't feel guilty x

Absolutely. I was signed off for 2 weeks last year following surgery on an ectopic pregnancy. When I got the form through, they had muddled the dates and signed me off for 3 weeks... I felt really guilty as physically, I was fine to return after 2 weeks. But actually, that extra week gave me time to look after myself and rest, whilst my toddler was at nursery and I went back to work feeling ready. Don't neglect your wellbeing :-)

You’re either well enough to work or you’re not - sounds like you’re not. No need to feel guilty.

Yes prioritise yourself! :)
