Hiya lovely ladies, quick question want to hear stories and experiences of how far along were yous when yous started feeling baby movements in your first pregnancy's and what did yous feel? What did it feel like etc? Im like 18 weeks and stil havent felt anything not that a have noticed anyway, had a few weird feelings etc but dont think it was baby yet? A know midwife says its normal if you dont feel anything just yet especially with first pregnancy. Just interested to hear everyones experiences and stories.

With 1st it was around 20wk and they could be felt from the outside by then too. Really hard to tell if it's baby or just gut rumbles with the 1st. After the 1st though you have the experience and are a lot more sensitive to the changes, ours have all been 11 or 12wk after the 1st even current who has an anterior placenta.

With my first I felt movement from 13 weeks. With this one nothing til 18 weeks.

Thought I started feeling movements around 19 weeks, anterior placentawas confirmed at 20 week scan. Could never be sure if it was baby or gas, as felt very similar and was usually in the evening when I was relaxing after dinner. As weeks went on, I started feeling more of a prod/kick occasionally. They'd normally be in a similar place, and felt them most days, this would be to around 24 weeks and would gradually happen more at different times of the day as the weeks went on. I'm now 28 weeks and feel baby regularly throughout the day now. Bigger kicks and movements, after food or drink and at certain times after exercise and I can now see and feel my belly physically move with some of her movements. It's so easy to compare to others, but it will depend on where your placenta is, where and how baby is positioned, how busy you are as to whether you notice movements at the time etc. As time goes on, it will become more obvious when it's baby.

I think mine was about 19/20 - I may have felt them earlier but tbh I couldn't tell if it was movement or trapped gas! I mentioned it to my midwife and she said it was most likely the baby. I didn't feel kicks until week 24/25.

I was getting really worried as all the apps said I should start feeling kicks from week 20 or so but I didn't. My midwife said first baby, probably week 24 onwards and the hospital said it could even be up to week 28 - I have a posterior placenta so it wasn't even that I had an anterior one, the apps just say you should feel kicks earlier, so don't worry if you're not feeling anything definitive yet!

28 weeks for me! And even then barely felt a thing. I had an anterior placenta (at the front) so it was cushioning the kicks and I was in and out of hospital for reduced movements the rest of the pregnancy. She doesn't stop moving now at nearly 2! My second pregnancy was around 22 weeks and I felt so much more because I had posterior placenta. It makes a huge difference. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I have posterior placenta, says on my notes from 12 weeks scan. Everyones stories are so different. Our amazing bodies. Yeah ive the thought ive felt something a few times but put it down to like gas etc maybe it is baby, yeah its so hard to know what the feelings are when you dont know espically first pregnancy. Thank you all for your comments and sharing your stories with me. Good luck with all pregnancys, and children

I think my movements with my first were around 21 weeks, proper little kicking feelings, and 20 weeks with the second! I thought it would be a lot earlier with the second as everyone said it would be, but it was pretty much the same

This is my first. I have a low posterior placenta. I first felt tickles and pops around 16 weeks. These were very infrequent and sometimes days between to start with and usually always in the evening or night. By 19 weeks they became more kick like and definable, also more regular. Always when I was relaxed and sitting, so in the evening usually. Now at 21 weeks my other half can feel them from the outside, but still only on the odd occasion do I feel them when I'm stood up at work etc. They are now every day too, but felt mostly first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. I have friends who have not felt anything at all, not even flutters, until 20-23 weeks! I hope this helps 😊
