Exhaustion in early pregnancy?

Hi all,
This is my first time posting! I’m just over 5 weeks pregnant and it’s my first time. As it is still so early I haven’t told my family or had a maternity appointment yet, so I don’t know who to ask for advice. I am just feeling absolutely exhausted 😴 and I have had to have evening naps after I finish work. Even when I wake up in the morning I still feel tired! Is this normal?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yep very normal - it's the increase in progesterone.

Congrats!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Feeling exhausted in early pregancy is totally normal. I don't know anyone who hasnt felt like that. I remember sobbing on my boyfriend's shoulder around 7 weeks pregnant as felt so exhausted and told him I don't know how I could do 9 months of it!

For most people it improves in second trimester. It hasn't really for me but I work in a hospital, on my feet all day so I think it's mostly work related!

Don't worry, very normal to feel like this and will be worth it in the end Smile

I was beyond exhausted i went from being perfectly fine with 6 hours sleep to needing 12 hours, I'd nap too on days off which I'd never done before. I'd never be able to finish a film.

My son is 19 months now and I'm pregnant again, strangely enough I don't feel more tired this time round which I thought I would.

Completely normal though

Exhaustion was my first symptom! A few days before my period was due, I crawled into bed at 7pm on a Saturday night - never done that before in my life! A week later found out this little goblin was draining my energy!
