Hello everyone I had my 21 week scan and the lady was very happy with the growth of my baby boy but just pointed out that he's stomach was slightly larger and it might just be where he's had a growth spurt and everything else needs to catch up she didn't mention anything about the head but my partner saw the head also was on the slightly larger scale which she responded was to do with where the head is positioned under the placenta ( which is at the front) I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced slightly larger tummy's and heads at 21 weeks scan and if it all turned out ok 😊

Babies tend to grow head to toe so it's pretty normal for their head sizes to be on a higher centile than say their leg bones?

My first born had a larger stomach at the 20 week scan. He's now a really skinny 4 year old who is struggling to get into 3-4 trousers because the waists are so big. He turned out absolutely fine 😊

Totally normal. If the tummy stays on the large size they may suggest a glucose tolerance test, just to be on the safe side.

My son’s head and tummy were always large and he’s still in the 97th centile for his age. People are just different sizes and lots of my family have big heads too : )

My 20 week scan was the same - apparently quite common in boys I think x

I had my scan o. Friday at just over 21 weeks, having a boy, his head is just under the 50th centile but his stomach and legs are over the 50th centile But weight is bang on the 50th, lady soo g the scan said all was good so have put my trust in what she said but am slightly worried still about his head being smaller

My baby had a massive head and a very rotund abdomen in my 20wk scan a couple of weeks back, and the sonographer didn't bad an eyelid. I did go away scratching my head about the reason for this and had to fight the urge to go down a Google rabbit hole trying to find answers about whether or not this was "normal". Who knows what the explanation is, but I suspect my baby was just having a growth spurt. I'm extremely curious so see how big they are when they emerge in September.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! Hope everything goes smoothly for you and your baby
