Fetal bradycardia at 6 weeks, low heart rate

Just been for a follow up scan after them only finding a gestational sac and yolk sac and now there is a small fetal pole with a heartbeat but she told me babies heart is really slow compared to what she would normally see. She said it could go either way and to come back in two weeks. She said it could either result in loosing baby or may be too early. I am beside myself with worry 💔

Hi OP I'm so sorry you're having such a worrying time. I don't have any experience of fetal bradycardia but just wanted to offer a handhold. Like you say it's one of those things that can go either way & unfortunately there's nothing you can do other than try & stay relaxed (easier said than done I know!) I've had previous losses & had to wait between scans so I know exactly what you're going through. Sending love & hoping things go well for you Thanks

Hi @Annamiller12. I had very similar and spent forever googling and being absolutely in despair at not knowing. In my case the outcome wasn't good and I start miscarrying a week after the scan showed the slow heartbeat (so miscarriage was at 8 weeks).

The slow heartbeat was combined with a lack of growth of the embryo and spotting and everything just not looking good.

It was a horrible time and the powerless feelings are awful.

Unfortunately there's just nothing you can do but to wait and rescan or see if you miscarry in the meantime. I felt a strange sense of relief when I began bleeding as at least I knew that the miscarriage had started and the uncertainty was over.

So sorry you're in this position.

hi sorry, you are going through this didn't want to read and. Unfortunately, my experience of this didn't end well either and at the next scan the heartbeat had stopped, I was measuring behind my dates and had to spotting a few weeks before.
Unfortunately, there is nothing yo can do do but wait . x
