Uppababy pram sheet advice + summer newborn sleeping bags!

Hi all,

My little one is due early July and am trying to get a bit more organised. We've ordered the Uppababy Cruz V2 pram and are planning on using the carrycot for some daytime naps in the lounge (leaving the Snuzpod in the bedroom upstairs). It comes with a mattress protector (but not waterproof I don't think) - can anyone recommend where to get pram sheets from as another layer to protect it a bit better/that's easy to wash? Not sure what to look for to be honest!

Also looking for recommendations for sleeping bags suitable from birth (unless baby is small of course). The midwife on our antenatal course said ideally a sleeping bag/swaddle with arms out was better for babies temperature regulation especially in summer, but some babies will want arms in to start with. So I have got two of the 0-4 month Tommee Tippee Snuggle bags in 1 tog where you can have arms in or out and should be okay from birth as they come up quite small. Looking for a third due to limited washing machine facilities with building work, but don't necessarily want to get another of the same in case baby hates those! Does anyone have any other recommendations? And would you get a tog rating lower or higher than 1 tog as well for a July baby (hard to know what the British weather will be doing I guess)...

Apologies for long post and thanks in advance!

It can be really hot in July and August. My July born slept in just a nappy under a giant muslin quite a lot. You can get muslin sleeping bags that are fab for summer. I don't remember needing bags thicker than 1 tog, but our flat didn't get very cold and its easy to layer vests and sleepsuits.

Do get a waterproof mattress protector for your pram. I seem to recall using pillow cases as sheets for the Uppababy Vista carrycot. Much cheaper than fitted sheets.

@MyFloorIsLava thank you! I do have some large muslins, just not convinced I'm going to be that good at swaddling so a muslin sleeping bag is a great idea.
Pillowcases - I hadn't thought of that, good plan!

I used the newborn snuggle gro bags for my first as I wasn’t trusting that I would be able to blanket her safely! I loved them - they were fab, so easy. I had a gorgeous 0.5 tog muslin sleeping bag from aiden and anais, which was gorgeous for super hot nights! but you might need to look at the weight for them as although they say 0-6, from memory they are from 10lbs or something!

The Asda Moses basket sheets fit carry cots perfectly I think they cost around £6 for a multipack and they wash well x

I have the vista v2 and second the Asda sheets for the pram, the moses basket sized ones fit perfectly. They make a waterproof one that has lasted perfectly

I have an uppababy Cruz - got the pram a hers from John Lewis - just generic pram/carry for size

@Anon9990 @Dugi3 @PrincessesRUs - thanks very much, I'll look at Asda/John Lewis :-)

@SillyBry oh that's good to hear about the newborn snuggle gro bags. I'll look into lighter weight bags and if what weights they're suitable for, thank you!
