Has anyone had a Covid vaccine earlier than their age group?

I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and have chosen to opt into getting the vaccine when I am offered it. Initially I was happy to wait until my age group was called (I'm 31) but I'm getting increasingly twitchy as I get closer to the 3rd trimester.

For anyone who has chosen to have it whilst pregnant, were you able to request it before your age group was called? If so how did you do it? My plan was to call my GP or 119, but I'd rather not call up if there's a 'proper' way to request it?

I tried going through my GP — nothing. I lucked out by having a friend who volunteered in one of the centres who asked if I wanted to be added onto the list to receive a leftover vaccine. Best bet is to contact one of the centres local to you and ask if you can be added onto the reserve list for Pfizer or moderna. Good luck!

Personally I think it’s disgusting that pregnant women aren’t being prioritised when we’re the only vulnerable group left and the majority of us in the lowest age groups Angry

Ah, I did think that might be the case. Thanks for the tip, I'll see if there is a waitlist I can be added to 👍

I just got my best friend hers. I was volunteering at a vaccine centre and got her on a back up list if they had any cancellations. Took about 2 weeks.

Go to the vaccine centre (not towards the end of the session when people queue for any excess) and try and speak to whose in charge and see if you can get on a list of they have them as you're pregnant and more vulberable. May not work but worth the ask.

No I haven't been offered.

I'm 36 weeks but 27 years old so I won't be offered until after now .

I got mine as they had some left over. I've both doses now. I'm only 27. And no at risk conditions. I was just lucky.

I’ve been offered it before my age group (32) not sure why. I’m having my first Pfizer dose next week, after a week of agonising over the decision x

I got mine last week - I'm 28 years old and 34 weeks pregnant. I rang my GP to ask, because others at my NCT class said their GPs were prioritising pregnant women. The GP said I was on their list to offer an appointment when the nearest vaccine clinic got their next shipment. I rang that clinic and discovered they had a "Pregnant Women Pfizer Extras List" which I could join. 2 hours later I got a call to come in.
