Bleeding and cramping 16dpt3dt (double FET)

Hi,

I’m 30 years old and 4 weeks 5 days pregnant following a double 3 day frozen embryo transfer. My first single transfer ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks 4 days in December. I have endometriosis, polycystic ovaries (not the syndrome) and suffered a perforated uterus in 2013.

I have been experiencing spotting since around 4th May. It started off as brown but has become brown/red, and also fresh red. If I lay flat the whole day, I get the slightest brown discharge. However if I get up to do anything such as cooking or washing up, I experience fresh red bleeding (only noticeable when I wipe). I experienced the same with my last pregnancy, and found that any light task would cause me to bleed.

I have also been experiencing pain. It varies between a tugging sensation on my left ovary, to mild cramping.

Both my clinic and GP are not concerned, despite my last experience with these symptoms.

I have been trying to check my cervix (I have to insert pessaries twice daily), which I am concerned appears very low in my vagina (less than an inch); I’m also finding it difficult to distinguish whether my cervix is open or closed.

My beta hCG is on 11th May and EPAU won’t scan me until at least 18th May.

Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated.

@Ivfgonecrazy hi lovely
I can't give advice I'm afraid but perhaps some support as I am something a bit similar.

I'm currently 19dp5dt so 5+3 weeks pregnant. At 14dp5dt I had a slight pink tinge which turned to brown discharge and only lasted a couple of hours then completely stopped, then today I have had brown discharge and some brown spotting only when wiping. Not heavy or anything. My clinic told me not to worry unless it's bright red. It's still always a worry though isn't it

Strange thing is that the first day I had the spotting I tested (was day before my official test) to try reassure myself. Got a 3+ on digital so was feeling good then the spotting came. Then today I decided to do a test again, was a dye stealer so again feeling good! I was at work (stacking shelves) when the brown discharge came so could be from that activity or it could be from the pessaries

I think we just have to try to take it as easy as we can until we get that first scan. Such a wait! :( mine isn't until 20th May when I will be 7 weeks.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s such a difficult position to be in and the waiting is unbearable. Hope all is well with your scan x

@Ivfgonecrazy the pessaries can irritate the cervix and cause bleeding so try not to put up too high. Good luck xx
