Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had hyperemesis and which then after pregnancy made them develop a fear of being sick?

I had rather severe HG throughout my pregnancy, and (I joke about it) but I do think I have some form of PTSD from it. And since giving birth I've now developed a huge fear of being sick. I had some alcohol at around 6 months PP and i've always been a sicky person when I drink anyway - but I ended up being sick and then ended up having a panic attack from it. It happened twice so i've stopped drinking now in fear that i'll even start to feel nauseous.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did anything help you to get over it?

I had HG and I'm still petrified of being sick. I know in my head it wouldn't be like before but it doesn't stop me worrying/panicking.

I know it isn't much to say but I would speak to GP about it. I'm hoping you have a good one who is supportive as it makes all the difference. Having access to anti sickness meds could maybe help you as well - knowing that they are there type thing even just for reassurance. HG is a horrible thing to go through esp with hospital admissions and I found it very difficult as a lot of people assumed bad morning sickness which used to drive me demented hearing that!

You could possibly also try hypnotherapy also. I haven't tried this but I've heard positive outcomes from it.
