Hi, I'm sure there will be a thread for this already somewhere but the search isn't coming up with much. My daughter is due 5th July however I'm having an elective section so I'm imagining she will be born in the few days leading up to this. Can anyone help with what to pack for a summer c section? My son was born in January so was well prepped with winter clothes. Anything I need to take specifically for a section birth? TIA

Very loose jamas/clothes, type with a vest top maybe.
Wards are hot at the best of times

Big pants! I'm normally a size 10, took size 16 for 1st baby, not big enough. Size 18 for #2 and they were ideal.

First baby also in winter and 2nd in summer, both CS. Ward was very warm so light nighties, flip flops for you. Despite being summer baby he hated having skin exposed, so was glad I had normal baby grows and not short ones.

Hand held fan may be useful too.

I had a July baby via c section, it was really hot last year.

For you
Big big pants
Really loose nighties, long T-shirt's
Face wipes
Wash bag
Paracetamol x a lot
Anything that will make you feel nice
Flip flops
I bought a summer dressing gown but never wore it
Pads
Get yourself a big water bottle with a built in straw
All the snacks

For baby
We still had to wrap him up and keep him warm as he was prem and small

They wrapped him in a towel straight after and a hat which we took

Sleep suit
Hat for spare but you may not need it
T-shirt body grows
Blanket
Nappies
Wipes

Have sun shields in the car

Ummmm that's all I can think of right now

Thanks all, I've bought some big pants 3 sizes up and some cheap strappy nighties. I'm hoping to get away with not staying long but obviously don't want to forget things!
