Posted this in the premature section but want to reach more people who may know also!
My first came at 35+5 for no apparent reason, I had a really smooth pregnancy, healthy no health concerns ect but she just decided to come early I know she wasn't mega prem but still prem, she was a good weight didn't require treatment ect.
This time round I've requested a section, due to the poor treatment of the birth of my first, I was experiencing labour pains at home for 3 days, not checked by anyone triage just put it down to a water infection which I was prescribed antibiotics for without my urine even being tested it was just a shambles, and when I finally pushed to be seen driving myself to the hospital i was 9cm when I got there! So it was to late to try and stop labour ect! I know they only book planned sections in from 39 weeks so I'm worried I might not even get to that! So my question is if you had a prem baby, how long did you carry for the second time around?
Thanks x

Nope!
First was 34+1 for no known reason- similar to yours, just decided to come early. Second was at 39+1.

whysorude · 02/05/2021 21:37

Yes for both dc but later turned out I had autoimmune issues.

Igotnewbarstools · 02/05/2021 21:38

Not prem but 37+3 for my first.
Second was induced at 40+6

That's reassuring thank you! Hopefully I go to at least term this time

No first was 28+4. Not sure why so prem, possibly and infection. Second was induced on due date.

ElGuardiandenoche · 02/05/2021 22:43

All three of mine were early. I didn't make it to term with any of them and each one was a quicker birth. I nearly gave birth to my first in the hospital toilet as they didn't believe I was in labour and wouldn't check me

TreaterAnita · 02/05/2021 22:56

My first baby was born at 32 weeks. Second was a C section planned at 39 weeks but they forgot to put me in the diary so ended up being 39+5.

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 02/05/2021 23:06

First was prem at 35 weeks exactly - possibly due to my being hypermobile (unknown at the time). #2 and #3 both arrived at 39+1, labour halving each time (6 hrs and 3hrs). #4 was breech, so planned caesarean at 39+2, which felt like an enormous risk!

Tottington · 02/05/2021 23:13

1st was just short of 34 weeks.
2nd was a planned section at 39 but I'm convinced she would've stayed in there for another month or more!

Do you know why you first was prem if you don't mind me asking

But different to most as my prem babies were delivered because of my body failing. First was at 28+6 and second at 27+6. They were both EMCS but good weights and managed well in nicu etc

trevthecat · 03/05/2021 08:07

My sister had first at 33weeks second 36+6 and 3rd at 41 weeks!

@Bittersweet12 It was quite a complicated pregnancy for various reasons but none of them should have directly caused prem labour and I think officially it was recorded as unexplained.
