Where's my bump?

I'm 17 weeks and still no sign. Haven't put on any weight whatsoever (lost 5 kilos puking at the beginning). I think I can see the beginnings of one...it's kind of firm to the touch between my knicker line and my belly button and a bit bigger but I thought I'd have more by now. Is this normal?
Also, when will I feel movement? Do you feel movement even if you haven't really got a bump? Sometimes I feel sort of strains in that area when I move or sort of pulling down sensations but not exactly pain. Get this when I turn over in bed for example. Feel like I've been pregnant for ages (and not even halfway through! ) can't believe I'm still to all extents and purposes flat! Sometimes it worries me that something's gone wrong and that's why I'm not growing. That's silly, isn't it?

I think I have it in addition to my own. CAT me your address and I'll pop it in the post to you.

You are very lucky - I have looked like a heifer for ages now and am nearly 18 weeks.

I'm expecting no3 and only just getting a bump of sorts at 17 weeks, but I think I'm just letting my previous baby belly all hang out instead of sucking it in constantly

I was in maternity stuff at 15 weeks with the other 2, but with this one I can still get into my normal stuff at a squeeze which is odd as I'm heavier.

Starting to feel something too, although again I felt flutters at 15 weeks with the other 2. This one just seems to be taking it's time.

There's no bump when I lie down either.

Maybe I've got better tummy muscles this time round?

Macaco - you'll probably ping back to flatter than flat tummy afterwards

everyone shows their bumps differently! I'm 5'8 and weighed about 13stone, i always thought i would pile on weight and have a massive tummy when i got pregnant, i usually just look at chocolate and i put weight however i didn't show til about 22wks(in regular clothes)and i only put weight in my bump. My weight went straight back down after i gave birth and now eigh less than i have done in a long time(good old BF)
Plus i felt the fisrt movements at 19weeks and they were kicks, i never got any bubbles, just kicks from the get go

Oh my......I am 17 weeks and its all hanging out....i loooked this big a 6 months with DS.

I am in mat skirts already....all other cloths are to tight even though i am half a stone lighter than I was when I got PG

Really, make the most of it! I am 25 weeks but I am short and have had a considerable bump since about 16 weeks. Came all of a sudden and is getting bigger by the moment. Like someone said before - if I could lend it to you I would! ..

macaco · 15/11/2007 10:04

I'll just be patient then. Hopefully this will mean I'll have a flat tummy in no time afterwards.....

I had a pretty invisible bump til at least 20wks with my last one. But from 17wks every morning at 5am I would be woken up by this flippin grapefruit-sized lump sticking out of my tummy! Felt like Sigourney Weaver

Jackstini · 15/11/2007 17:31

Lucky you!
I was 9 weeks when a customer congratulated me - had not even told my boss!

PazzaPlusTwo · 16/11/2007 10:09

At 12 weeks DH asked to take a 'pre-bump' photo of me so we could see how I change over time, he thought I was pushing my belly out when I was actually holding it in.

I'm now 13 weeks - just let out my last viable pair of work trousers 3 inches yesterday, and went to buy a couple of sacks from M&S. Nearly in tears in changing room mourning demise of washboard stomach - I was shocked how different I look already.

It's my first pregnancy but it is twins so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised! They look so cool on the scan, they can have as much room as they want

lemonaid · 16/11/2007 10:25

21 weeks today, and last night DH said "You really are enourmous, aren't you?". He meant it well, bless him...

ninedragons · 16/11/2007 10:39

Maybe he was just saying that because all men think "You really are enormous, aren't you?" is the best possible thing anyone can ever say to them.

Gill79 · 16/11/2007 11:20

my bump was well and truly out by 16 weeks, and has carried on growing fast! See profile pics. Feel really lucky cause I've never had any curves before. Am a 5'1"er with narrow hips so not surprising as nowhere else for it to go but out! Other girls I know at more than 20 weeks still very flat but more height and space between the hips I thinks makes a huge difference. Didn't feel movements till 20 weeks.

macaco · 16/11/2007 11:28

Booquests that it soooo true. Every morning when I'm lying in bed I can feel this grapefruit sized lump. It's so weird. I think it is beginning to grow but I can only see it when I'm naked.

LOL at your DP lemonaid! Mine did that to me last night too! Bless him, I don't think he realised that am still a woman so therefore not wanting 'gosh haven't you got a big tummy comments' any more than before.
