Been told girl but convinced it’s a boy

So we had a gender scan at 17 weeks. We have been told it’s a girl due to 3 lines - which can be seen on scan picture. However in my heart I still feel like I’m carrying a boy. I’m not sure if it’s because previous pregnancy was a girl and this is so different. But I’m carrying different as well and I just feel like I’m carrying a boy.

Anyone else have this feeling? How did you get over it?
Anyone been told it’s a girl then it be a boy?

Both of my pregnancies felt very different, both boys. Are you disappointed?

I had 2 very different pregnancies and thought my 2nd was a boy. Had the harmony test and it was a girl. Couldn't believe it as they were honestly so different, even the midwife thought I was having a boy. So I would go on scan more than pregnancy.

I was convinced I was having a boy in my first pregnancy and was shocked to find out I was having a girl at 20 weeks. I thought they must be wrong but I had to have another scan a few weeks later and was told a girl. Right up until she was born I had a feeling she was going to be a boy but she was a girl Grin. I was young when I was pregnant with her though and I wanted a boy so I think I was just secretly hoping rather than having a feeling.

I've had two totally different pregnancies - different symptoms, carried differently, two completely opposite experiences. Both boys! Symptoms don't mean anything in terms of the sex of the baby.

I was convinced I was having a boy, then I had a dream that I had a girl a few days before scan, scan showed girl (and she is). Then with my twins I really didn’t know (it felt very different, but there were 2 in there!) then I had a dream I had a boy (only 1 twin featured in dream....) was very sure at least 1 twin must then be a boy, but no scan showed 2 girls and 2 girls it is.

I do know people who were told girl at their scan had picked the name, gone nuts with the girly clothes and then it came out a boy...

Thank you for this. I guess I’ve just been hoping it would be a boy as it’s our final child. I think it’s a bit of gender disappointment for the son I’ll never have.

I was convinced I was having a boy. Several scans said girl and she was definitely a girl when she arrived.

My first pregnancy I was convinced I was having a boy, I just had a feeling.
My 20 week scan I was told I was having a girl and after the initial disappointment I came round to it.

I then gave birth to a boy who's first pictures he is dressed pink and fluffy.
Im sure you can imagine the shock!
Could you get a private gender scan just to put your mind at rest?

I felt a bit like this when I found out I was carrying our third boy. Defo a kind of grief for the daughter I won't ever have/names I won't get to use etc. I think that's perfectly natural.

But a few weeks later and those feelings have faded :) I don't want to have a fourth child just for the chance of having a girl. And I know our little boy will be perfect.

@LJ1995 - I’m having my 3rd girl and although I’m happy I can totally relate to your feeling of the one I’ll never have which is a boy. This is also my final child (god willing and hoping all goes well). I’ll probably always have that little thought about what it would be like but that’s all it’ll be, a thought, as you can pre pick which you will have x

Worriesome · 01/05/2021 16:22

Sorry I meant you can’t pre pick x
