Forgot to dissolve my aspirin!

Hi all!

I've been prescribed 75mg doses of dissolvable aspirin.. we're having work done on the house and I was chatting to the builders and just took them.. completely forgot to dissolve the two tablets in water.

I downed a pint of water afterwords but worried about the consequences 😭

They will just dissolve in your stomach

There won’t be any consequences so no need to worry.

I’m on my second pregnancy and I have taken aspirin as-is throughout both of my pregnancies. Never thought to dissolve it - did you get told to?
Unless not dissolving aspirin leads to a toddler who don’t sleep I don’t think I caused any harm in my first pregnancy by taking it whole!

Dissolving it is just to better protect the stomach lining with long term use.

I take mine without dissolving every day - I really wouldn't worry! I used to dissolve it but find it much more palatable to just swallow it with a couple of swigs of water.

I've never dissolved mine. I'm on 150mg
Since 8 weeks
Now 34 weeks and it's never upset my tummy
I have it after my evening meal

I've got gastro resistant ones from Asda, they we're the only ones I could find online tbh, but just take them as normal tablets.

I take 75mg x 2 per day swallowed whole and have done for 9 weeks now. So far I appear to be OK - i take with food.

Pharmacist here- the dissolving aspirin absolutely do not need to be dissolved before taking. Most people just swallow them whole. Don't worry.
